HANDS OF A SUICIDE

"Don’t you know me? Look-look at my hands…This miserable body, this thin frozen blood, this sentinel on guard because of fragility, it is as if I try to put together a shattered glass. I was born to earth a sick being. The bottomless depths of pity on one side, the towering pinnacles of ambition on the other… Death is my shadow. Death is an entry into life. Look-look at my hands! They are the hands of a suicide..."

THIS PERFORMANCE PIECE IS INSPIRED BY EDWARD MUNCH'S PAINTINGS. THE TEXT IS FORMED THROUGH A RE-ARRANGEMENT OF HIS PERSONAL WRITINGS. IT IS AN EXPERIMENT ON MEETING WITH EDWARD MUNCH AS AN ARTIST AND AN ART WORK, SIMULTANEOUSLY.

*THIS PIECE WAS FIRST PERFORMED IN "MAISON GAI SABER," AN ARTISTS RESIDENCY IN LEIGNE, FRANCE IN THE SUMMER OF 2009.
